Energy bars Mulebar : fuel for adventure !

The company Mulebar sent me kindly bars for me to test them. I take this opportunity to write a post about these products.

An energy bar Mulebar appears as a little thick square or rectangle, weighing 65 g. The bars are sold £ 33. They are also available in megabites of 30 g.

Two of these energy bars (Hunza Nut and Mango Tango) have the distinction of being both certified organic and fair trade. The company is also a member of the organization 1% for planet. These are good marketing arguments to convince the most reluctant ...

Bright colors, designs and exotic names, to describe the various flavors characterize the packaging. I think that Mulebar is in the same movement that the bars Clif.

The bars Mulebar are different from conventional cereal bars. Farms in the cold, they nevertheless remain elastic (including bar strudel) and have slight tendency to stick to fingers. Apart from the chocolate bar, all varieties are a little hard to chew because they slightly stick to teeth and are quite thick. Once the package is opened, the bars dry quickly. The chocolate bar has a different texture and chew more easily than others. However, its taste is quite special and it leaves a small bitter taste in the mouth. An other unpleasant remark now (!) For the Mango bar, the acidity is quite unpleasant and for strudel bar, the cinnamon flavor is too much pronounced. Despite these drawbacks, the flavors of these 2 bars are quite acceptable. My preference goes to the bar Pina Colada for its exotic flavor and the presence of Goji berries. Their taste mixes very well with pineapple and coconut.

Unfortunately, these energy bars are not fortified with vitamins. This simple energy bars that result from a mixture of dried fruit, rice syrup and rice flour and oats or chocolate. They also have a significant fat content (6 to 7%). We must carefully consider their high energy in the diet since they provide more 200 calories per bar 65g and are rich in simple sugars. These products may be consumed for pleasure at a gourmet break or during ultra-endurance exercises.

To summarize, strengths these bars are their taste and certifications . However, they can quickly paste or dry. The 65g bar is too big and too caloric for sports entertainment. It should be eaten in several times. These bars must be reserved for very gourmet snacks for a hiking or skiing, or ultra-endurance. Like most bars also!

NB: You want to know my favorite, which one offers the best compromise? The bar Hunza Nut !
