Walking digestive help regulate blood sugar after a meal.

The virtues of postmeal walking are well known to help digestion. A study conducted by Norwegian researchers go further.


It shown that walking after a meal is also a great way to regulate blood glucose levels after meals. The postprandial hyperglycemia is a factor favoring the occurrence of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
This study was conducted among women over 50 years. Among them, the effect of a slow walk to a 15 or 40 min allows to limit the increase in blood sugar after a meal. The magnitude of this effect seems to be related to the duration of walking. It remains to verify that these results are reproducible among all adults and children.
Meanwhile, this study brings us still good arguments for us to walk and preferably after a meal!
