Supplementation with a amino acid dipeptide of "Kyowa" (Sustamine) may enhance performance during high intensity exercise in hypohydrated state, says a new study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
In this study, 10 sportmen were dehydrated before performing intense cycling exercise during 4 different trials : no rehydration, rehydration with water, rehydration with dipeptide solution at 2 different doses.
When supplemented with this dipeptide, the magnitude of performance reduction in hypohydrated state was significantly less compared to the dehydrated condition. Water alone appear to increase performance but not significantly. However, improvement in performance with water alone and dipeptide at the 2 doses is neither significant!
I think this peptide sell by Kyowa Hakko company seems promising but before enthusiasm, more studies have to be conduct!
