Debate still exists on the effect of combined carbohydrate beverages on both fluid availability and exercise performance.
A new study showed that the addition of fructose to a maltodextrin beverage improves exogenous carbohydrate use and fluid availability on endurance athletes. However, performance gains were not shown to be significant.
